Well folks, the anticipation is over. Tomorrow marks the official launch of Toronado in North Park! I managed to sneak in a couple of times over the weekend, and my, oh, my am I glad the wait is over. While the bar was fairly unfinished (tablecloths were strewn over bar tops, bottoms of booths still revealed spaced out 2×4’s), it looks EXTREMELY promising. I think I counted 56 taps (my math could have been a bit hazy), and the bottle selection in partially stocked fridges already looked quite Belgian-y. Looks like there’s a kitchen too, and I think I saw some grilled polenta and asparagus floating around on Saturday, so looks like it could be a step above your standard pub fare–which gets me even more excited (some of you know my thoughts on this).
Anyway, for a PB-to-North-Park transplant who used to frequent the Liars Club at LEAST once a week, it’s an understatement to say I’m excited. Hopefully I’ll see you there!
